The City participates in the development and implementation of the Tijuana River Water Quality Improvement Plan.
The purpose of the Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) is to guide local Storm Water Management Programs to address specific priorities within the watershed management area. In the Tijuana River WQIP the City implements focused water quality improvement strategies that address the contribution of turbidity and sedimentation to the Tijuana Estuary. The Tijuana River WQIP also implements a water quality monitoring and assessment program that helps track the water quality conditions and the effectiveness of jurisdictional strategies to manage stormwater pollution.
An annual report has been prepared and it's available on the Project Clean Water website.
