The City participates in the development and implementation of the San Diego Bay Water Quality Improvement Plan.
The purpose of the Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) is to guide local Storm Water Management Programs to address specific priorities within the watershed management area. In the San Diego Bay WQIP, the City implements focused water quality improvement strategies that address the discharge of trash. The San Diego Bay WQIP also implements a water quality monitoring and assessment program that helps track the water quality conditions in the watershed and the effectiveness of jurisdictional strategies to manage stormwater pollution.
An annual report has been prepared and it's available on the Project Clean Water website.
