Through an Ocean Protection Council Prop 68 grant, the City of Imperial Beach is developing plans to repurpose a 1.2-mile segment of the Bayshore Bikeway corridor into a multi-benefit coastal resilience corridor.
The City was awarded a $300,000 Climate Ready grant (Grant Agreement 13-090) by the State Coastal Conservancy (SCC) on January 23, 2014, to conduct a vulnerability assessment and develop adaptation strategies to address the effects that sea-level rise (SLR) could have on coastal resources along the Pacific Ocean shoreline of Imperial Beach.
Resilient Imperial Beach Climate Action Plan / Local Coastal Program / General Plan Update
Like many coastal communities, the City of Imperial Beach is facing an increased risk of storms, flooding, and erosion due to sea-level rise. To better understand the risks to the community, the City of Imperial Beach Sea Level Rise Assessment was produced in 2016.
